The entire ground level is full height glass mounted in front of a steel structure allowing the use of less energy and more natural light. The upper south and west facades are shielded from the hot Texas sun with a multi-faceted steel panel screen which doubles as a shading device and guardrails for the residential balconies to further decrease the use of energy. In addition to the steel sunscreen, features such as insulated Low-E glazing, R-19 insulated walls, and R-30 insulated roof can also be found at The East Village. At the top of the building you will find a roof top garden that further insulates the building.
